I bought this out of curiosity due to it's hyped revolutionary content, and was not thrilled with it. The author writes with his know-it-all perspective which gets a bit boring after a few chapters. There's not a lot of practical training advise if that's what you want. To be fair I am not at all interested in gaining muscle by any means, and cam action and such. I lift because I enjoy practicing the lifts, not as a means to an end. So I'm a poor audience for Mr. Jone's writings.Product details

I bought this book from the author in 1971, it was $15 at the time which would be equivalent to about $50 today. I cannot think of a better place to begin the study of the evolution of resistance training than this pamphlet. Arthur Jones was the number one authority of resistance training in the world and pioneered not only theory but training equipment design that is still copied today and hasn't been surpassed yet.
